Mycology in the Backyard: A deep dive into the unique fungal inhabitants of the Blackland Prairie. We’ll discuss the history of mycology and how our understanding of these "hidden networks" has evolved.
The Power of Citizen Science: Learn why hobbyists and community members are the backbone of modern discovery. We’ll show you how your observations contribute to global research and conservation.
Edible "Spotlight" Mushrooms: We will identify the most rewarding local edible species. You’ll learn their nutritional and therapeutic benefits, as well as the essential skills to distinguish them from dangerous look-alikes.
Fungi & Bees: A special "beyond" segment! We will briefly explore the fascinating, emerging research on the role of fungi in beekeeping—specifically how certain fungal extracts are being used to support honeybee immune systems and combat colony collapse.
